Is Gorbachev a Christian?

On Sunday I closed my sermon with the amazing story that former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev has been a closet Christian for years, putting into a new light his 1989 meeting with Pope John Paul II.

Here are two links: one to the Chicago Tribune and a second to the UK Telegraph.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/03/19/wgorbachev119.xml

(I'll embed those when I am not a safari browser. )

Clearly, we need to stay tuned for more information.

UPDATE: Looks like we have more information, and he is not a Christian. Oh well, it was interesting while it lasted.

Holy Week is coming

It is hard to believe I started blogging as a way to preserve Holy Week Spirituality Centers in picture and text. Here are a few examples (and here) from 2006 and last year. (Here is another)

We will have a wonderful week beginning next Sunday, March 16 at Northminster (1100 E. Nine Mile Rd, pensacola). Write me at npcrev@bellsouth.net for more information.
